A break from our regularly scheduled programming

Just wanted to pop by here and let my faithful readers know that I won't have any new shop profiles this week, as I'm traveling for my day job. But to keep you all from suffering withdrawals for your Etsy fix, I do have a couple of street teams to mention.

Street teams on Etsy are a way for the various sellers to come together to promote Etsy as a whole and their specific shops. Some of the Etsy street teams are geographic, some are based on a specific art form, and some are just for like-minded individuals.

One such team is EtsyRain. EtsyRain is the name of the western Washington state street team, which encompasses the Seattle metro area and then some. Most of our members live in or near Seattle proper, but we have members living as much as 2 hours in any direction. I've featured quite a few EtsyRain members here at Shop Etsy, but if you're looking for more, check out our EtsyRain blog. Here, you'll see a small sampling of items created by team members, and there's also a LONG list of shops to browse.

Another team, which comes from the last of the three categories above, is the Big Damn Crafters. The members of this team are fans of the short-lived Joss Whedon series, "Firefly," and the related movie, Serenity. We're an ecletic bunch, living all over the world, and creating a bunch of different items. We also have a team blog, which similarly showcases some of our team items and has a list of shops to browse.

So hopefully these will tide you over till I return. Until then, I'm off to explore yet another part of Washington state. See ya next week!
