Etsy Featured Shop: Vogon Poets

I first found the Etsy shop Vogon Poets when I saw the shop name as the curator of a treasury. As a fan of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I caught the reference immediately. For those who aren't familiar with this book, the Vogons are a race of aliens known for their intolerably bad poetry. But Vogon Poets' shop tagline, "third place poetry, first place designs," definitely applies.

Vogon Poets is the brainchild of Stephanie Ament, of Pennsylvania. Like many artists on Etsy, Stephanie can safely say that she has been crafting for nearly her entire life, inspired by a very creative mother. Stephanie's Etsy shop, which opened in February of 2008, features prints of her monster drawings and printed cards featuring the same artwork. Stephanie enjoys drawing these monsters and putting them in a variety of situations: "It's fun showcasing monsters in a friendly way, because when I was a little kid I was so afraid of them. I find it amusing to take something people think of as "scary" and put them say on a beach in an inner tube. How could anyone hate a monster who loves the beach!?" Stephanie is also willing to take on custom work--if you have an idea for something you'd like to see a monster doing, she'd be happy to hear it!
