Etsy Featured Shop: A Crafty Arab

Koloud 'Kay' Tarapolsi, who runs the Etsy shop A Crafty Arab, original hails from Darneh, Libya, but now makes the Seattle area her home. She began creating things as a child in Libya, where they made toys and came up with games to play. She continued crafting into adulthood, when she began making Arabic gifts to give to her friends, finding very few Arabic gifts to purchase commercially. She began selling her creations about 3 years ago, and has been selling them on Etsy for a few months. Her Etsy shop features a variety of Arab crafts, prayer beads, cards, toys, and household decor, along with some jewelry.

Kay still enjoys making toys, which remind her of happy memories from childhood, but she really loves making all of the items that she sells. She is happy to work with customers who are looking for a different Arabic phrase or saying for a card, or different colors or stamps for a Jacob's ladder. Also, if you're in the Seattle area and would like to see her items in person, you can check out Kay's calendar of upcoming shows on her website.
